A lovely hotel in a lovely setting. Room, staff and food more than met expectations
Peaceful, friendly staff, and the most impressive setting.
All the staff were extremely friendly. Hotel is situated in a really beautiful area. Excellent food and great spa.
The staff was extremely friendly but we were the only people staying there at the time. The room was very spacious and comfortable.
There was a little pressure to have us eat at the hotel restaurant, instead of offering that as one option.
Rooms were excellent, setting very beautiful. Food & service could not be faulted.
Location and view
- Pool area and relaxation facilities do not match quality standards of a five star wellness hotel - not enough sunlouncher and even worse not enough covers for those; pool cleaning during the day; - management not responsive to complaints
The hotel was absolutely fantastic. It is set just on the outskirts of Franschheok surrounded by beautiful scenery and vineyards. The staff were absolutely brilliant, and during our brief stay we ate in the Mange Tout which is located at the hotel where they boast fine dining. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal there, and the standard of food was very high. We stayed in one of the Pinotage suites which was extremely well appointed, and had lovely views from the balcony. Breakfast was very good with an excellent selection from the buffet, and the hot side of menu was cooked to order so was always nice and fresh. Would have no hestitation in pointing people in the direction of this hotel as it was wonderful, and the wines on offer were of excellent quality.
A magical location, fantastic rooms and a beautiful pool. The Country Kitchen is an absolute gem and was one of our favourite places to eat in Franschhoek. Fantastic place.
The only slightly disappointing thing about the whole stay was the charge for the lift into town. If the charge was fair (not 120 Rand for a 2 minute journey) and known in advance it would be fine. However, it's portrayed as a favour, which is incredibly endearing, then appears on your bill at check out. A minor point in a fantastic stay though!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the views from our room and the hotel generally were beautiful. The facilities were good and there is a vineyard and winery on site.
